Sign gets a new look
Countryside volunteers, Tom, Janice, and George Rusk, along with Board members, Scott McKenna and Cherissa Lambert
worked diligently on the Countryside front entrance sign on the weekend of October 18-19, 2008. Janice Rusk and
Cherissa Lambert planned out a new look of perennial flowers and foliage around the front entrance sign over the
course of the summer months. Several hours of labor were spent removing the existing plants that no longer proved
to provide adequate color. Also, more digging than originally planned was done to locate all of the sprinkler heads
that had gotten buried under earth and grass over the years of inadequate care. Flowers such as Desmond Carnations,
Early Hybrid Kniphofia, Variegated Vinca, and many others were planted. The rains that we received the following week
should help to secure a beautiful bloom beginning in the Spring of 2009. Plans are also in place to include color in
bedding plants and a nice border around the area to finish up the new look next spring.
